If vegetarians eat vegetables, then what do humanitarians eat?

Saturday March 14th...

The Obama administration permanently banned the slaughter or cows that are too weak or sick to stand on their own in order to further minimize the chance of mad cow disease entering the food supply.

Isn't it terrible that the slaughter of cows like this was even allowed?

A true friend is someone who knows that you are a good egg, even though they also know that you are slightly cracked...

Easter is just around the corner; have you dyed eggs yet?

I found some interesting ways to dye eggs with no kits or artificial coloring...all you need is common foods and flowers.

Blue/teal: 2-3 tablespoons of chopped red cabbage and 1 teaspoon vinegar in boiling water
Purple: 2 tablespoons grated beets, 2 tablespoons red cabbage, and 1 teaspoon vinegar in boiling water
Red: 2-4 tablespoons freshly grated beets and 1 teaspoon vinegar in boiling water
Bright yellow to deep gold: 1-2 teaspoons of tumeric powder and 1 tsp vinegar in 2/3 cup boiling water
Green: 1 teaspoon of tumeric powder, 2-3 tablespoons of chopped red cabbage with boiling water

Natural dyes to typically take longer to color the eggs, so make sure you have a little extra time to spare!

Also, I havent personally tried these recipes yet, but plan to test them out sometime before easter...if anyone tries them feel free to let me know what you thought about the recipe.

The trouble with living alone is that it's always your turn to do the dishes...

Anybody else have that spring cleaning fever like I do?

Here are some great recipes to clean your home completely naturally with no harsh chemicals or fumes. They actually do work very well...

Floors: scrub with a mixture of 1/4 cup vinegar per 1 gallon of warm water. Since vinegar is not the best smelling thing in the world, you can add a few drops of an essential oil, such as lavendar, to the mixture.

Drains: Pour one cup of baking soda down the drain, then add 3 cups of boiling water.

Toilets: Put 1 cup of borax in the toilet and leave it overnight.

Bathtub: Mix baking soda and a plant-based detergent together until a mix the consistency of cake frosting forms. Use this to scrub the bathtub.

Windows: In a clean spray bottle, mix 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar with 1 cup of water, then add just a dab of a vegetable based dish soap.

The dish soap will remove the invisible film that builds up from years of using commercial cleaners. After the initial cleaning with the vegetable-based dish soap, you will only need to use the vinegar and water because the film will be removed and wont cause the vinegar to streak.

Oven: Make a paste with 1 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup powdered laundary detergent. Start by heating the oven for 5 minutes at 350 degrees then turn it off; spread the paste over the oven and let it sit for one hour. After the hour is up you can scrape the paste off (a plastic spatual works well for this)

Vinegar really is the way to go. A straight solution of vinegar kills 99% of bacterial, 82% of mold, and 80% of viruses.

feel free to share any great "all natural" cleaning recipes you may have...

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make our world.

Here are some thought provoking questions...

1. What impact are you wanting to leave on this world?

2. What in life, is beautiful to you? Where do you find inspiration?

3. What is the meaning of peace to you?

Ya know you're never gonna survive unless you get a little crazy...

And this is just something I find a little crazy...

Hmm...living jewelry? I personally wouldn't wear this, but it is a pretty neat and interesting concept. The lady who does these has quite a few different jewelry types such as this; check them out here...

Paint a Perfect Perfect Picture, Bring to Life a Vision in One's Mind...

I began painting about four or five years ago. As of now, my walls are filled with paintings I have done. It's really kind of amazing how many different painting mediums there are and what artists are able to do with them...

When I began painting I disovered that I really enjoyed working with oil paints; however, oil paints are pretty messy and require paint thinner to water them down (not a good smell). Now I tend to stick with acrylics on canvas.

Here's one I've done...
